"Cuba:
Un Viaje Judío" Jews began to emigrate to Cuba from the U.S. during the Cuban War of Independence (Spanish-American War), and from Europe in the first quarter of the 20th century. A joint project between photographer Daniels and the Cuban Association of Artists and Writers has resulted in the book, "Cuba: A Jewish Journey" upon which this bilingual show is based. This will be only the second showing of these photos in this country, and the first exhibition in the Eastern U.S. |

Artists' Guild of The Artists’ Guild of Spartanburg began meeting on the evening of October 7, 1957 as a coffee group to critique work. It soon became much more. These individuals give more than just their time. Their service excludes them from exhibiting in the museum's galleries except for group shows. Lee Gray Johnnie Lee Gray (1941-2000) was a Spartanburg native and a self-taught painter whose artwork was seldom appreciated during his lifetime. The works in this exhibit tell the story of life in the black community during the days of segregation, from Civil Rights unrest to fathers and sons bonding while fishing to the role of the church to the pride of the Tuskegee Airmen in WWII. |

Artists' Guild of Spartanburg The AGS is among the longest-lived arts organizations in South Carolina, and this annual event speaks volumes about the guild's success, often astounding outside judges at the talent in Spartanburg and the counties that surround it.
