This work is the first proof of Verner’s first etching which was pulled from the press in May of 1923. Part of the Charleson Renaissance, Verner was one of the City’s best known artists, capturing the spirit of its people–and as seen here and in the print Church Street which is in the Museum of Art’s collection–the character of its architecture.
