Red October. 2004. oil on panel. 14"h x 11"w.

This work is an example of what has been called Bora's "exuberant expressionism" by a Dutch critic. Bora easily manipulates various media, moving from painting to drawing to sculpture, and readily adjusting his virtuoso technique according to subject matter and his own emotion at the moment.

Indian Summer
from the "Seasons" series. 2004. synthetic stone.
12"L x 8.5"w x 8.5"h

Indian Summer is from Vadim Bora's series "Seasons," which encompasses not only depictions of the seasons in corporeal form but also embodies the poetic emotions of seasonal change. In the "Seasons" series, each sculpture stands on its own as well as within a grouping.

Each sculpture also serves as a model for future monumental-sized pieces. "Summer," for example, (as opposed to "Indian Summer"), has been made into a seven by three foot sculpture in a private garden.
