Edwina Sandys (SANDS) has been an artistic trailblazer for more than five decades, constantly producing artwork that has been at every moment both relevant and challenging while witty, imaginative, and accesible. Her body of work is rooted in the female experience and female perspective, but strikes a delicate balance between the specific and universal, personal and political, and domestic and public; her work, much like herself, transcends easy categorization and achieves an enduring significance and appeal for people of any gender, age, or background.
