Color, Shape, Contour is an introduction course to set up a painting. The class will explore color. What makes a triad color palette. What is the Zorn palette. How does layout and composition effect your painting. What is a strong layout and what should you avoid. How light creates depth by creating and understanding tonal values. Students will be encouraged to create their own paintings. Supply list: 8x10 canvases, at least 3 brushes sizes 4,8,10 in either a filbert or flat. Acrylic paint. Starter kits are fine if you don’t have any paints. Liquitex is a good brand to start off with. Jerrys is a good place to buy supplies online https://www.jerrysartarama.com Some paints will be available in the studio if you are not sure about what to start off with. cancellation policy
If we do not meet minimum registration, class will be cancelled and students will be given a full refund. If registration occurred through our website, refunds will be issued through PayPal/Square minus a small PayPal/Square administration fee. Otherwise, a check will be mailed to you in approximately two weeks. If a student has to withdraw from a class five or more working days before the class is scheduled to begin, a refund will be issued minus a SAM $20 administrative fee. If a student withdraws from a class five working days or less before a class is scheduled to begin, the class fee will not be refunded.
