art school summer intern program 2019

The Spartanburg Art Museum is seeking an Art Education Intern to assist our instructors with morning or afternoon summer art camps June through July 2019. This is a non-paid internship.

This position is perfect for someone looking to:

  • Gain instructional experience in art education

  • Enhance resume 

  • If desired, intern can work with the camp instructor to create and implement a lesson plan for a camp project. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Some teaching, including student teaching, experience working with diverse socio-economic youth ages 4-12 would be helpful.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Art making skills and desire to learn new techniques and create demonstration pieces to use for students in Summer Camp programs.

  • Patient and positive attitude

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize the varying needs of up to a dozen campers in a studio setting
