Elizabeth joined the SAM staff in September of 2013. She holds an MFA in art education with a concentration in contemporary museum practices, and has over 20 years of experience working in the arts education sector of multiple nonprofit organizations, including serving as Director of Education and later as Curator for the Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids, MI.

Abigail [Abby] Coté is a Spartanburg native with a passion for celebrating local artists. She has a BA in art history and English literature from Sewanee: The University of the South as well as an MA in the history of art and design from Pratt Institute.
After graduating from Pratt in the midst of a global pandemic, Abby used her education and love of art to develop a successful digital marketing business. She is dedicated to creating engaging, interesting, and aesthetic digital content that ignites Spartanburg love for the arts.

Charlotte "Lottie" Hutson is a third-generation teacher with education in her blood. She has a passion for teaching adults and children how to create artwork through a diverse understanding of materials, techniques, and processes. She is a native of Spartanburg and seeks to fulfill her purpose by impacting her community through supporting art education. Her educational background is Art Education with a minor in Art History from Converse University.

Originally from Nashville TN, Christina graduated with honors from Furman University in 2015. In addition to teaching classes for Spartanburg Art Museum's Art School and managing the ceramics studio, which she has done since 2017, Christina shows her work in art fairs and galleries across the Southeast. She also operates her own ceramics studio, where she specializes in functional electric and wood-fired stoneware as well as custom horsehair raku commissioned pieces for anyone who would like a special commemoration of their equine friends.

Ashleigh holds a BA in Graphic Design from the University of South Carolina Upstate, where she served as a gallery assistant at the Curtis R. Harley Art Gallery for two years. She completed a gallery management internship at SAM in 2014, after which she joined the staff as the associate curator and in-house graphic designer. She has accumulated over a decade of experience in gallery management and exhibition design, including art handling, lighting, and installation, and has worked with over 200 individual artists on contemporary exhibitions.
